Nice except Ron Carter got a little too experimental on the bass for my tastes. Repeatedly playing a sharp 7 on the one instead of the tonic just killed the song for me. Maybe he was toasted? His playing seems a bit imprecise in general on this. /shrug

In the early 80's, I used to listen to Humphrey Littleton's jazz program on BBC Radio 2. I can distinctly remember listening to a Jeremy Steig track, "Wiilow Weep For Me" and was absolutely enchanted by it. I kept looking out for it on CD for years and years, and finally found it on a re-issue of his album "Flute Fever". What a fabulous and enigmatic artist he was.

Does anyone know where I can go to watch this? I’ve never seen it. Amazon, and Max say they have it but the movie is zoomed into the top right corner for some reason or it’s not the full version. Which I believe is around 4 hrs not 1 hr 20 min

Evidentemente quando questo video venne pubblicato non era ancora stato acclarato che il celeberrimo (e ottimo) brano in questione NON è propriamente di Guillame de Machaut bensì di Antonino Riccardo Luciani, anche se si ispira moltissimo allo stile del grande compositore medievale succitato. Il programma in sè, comunque, era un esempio fulgido di alta, altissima televisione italiana. Hanno cercato di vandalizzarne la memoria di recente, infognandolo pure nelle brutture del politicamente corretto, ma fortunatamente hanno fallito.
